THE LIPIDOMIC LABORATORY – In the Laboratory the erythrocyte cell membrane lipidomic analyses are carried out, applying a well defined and reliable protocol of cell selection and chemical transformations.
The Laboratory has been authorized (Helath Aut. CF 201182/12) for research in human lipidomics for the biochemical, molecular biology, nutritional and pharmaceutical fields. With the help of ISOF and CNR group can execute animal and vegetal lipidomics.
ROBOT – The high-throughput system carries out for the cell selection and chemical transformation and has been designed by the Lipinutragen’s researchers on the basis of the manual protocol established for the lipidomic analyses. This robotics is crucial for realizing fully automatized and efficient procedures in lipidomics in the presence of one expert operator in the laboratory.
RESEARCH AREA – The Research Area of the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche in Bologna and the ISOF institute have been the incubator of the idea on NUTRILIPIDOMICS, born from the studies of Carla Ferreri and Chryssostomos Chatgilialoglu in lipidomics and radical stress.
MEMBRANE – The cell membrane keeps its structure and relevant functions of exchange and signalling due to the presence of phospholipids, which are lipid components derived from diet and metabolism.Without fats in the optimal ratios of saturated, cis monounsaturated and polyunsaturated lipids, the membrane cannot run all its diverse functions and the cell starts to suffer from an unbalanced status, that is, stress.
